Advanced Java Programming

Course Description

This course is an introduction to abstract classes, interfaces, generics using Object Oriented Design methodologies, design patterns, reflection, exception handling, multi-threading, Sockets, JDBC, and Web Programming. Students will design a project in a team-based environment working on creating multiple releases of the same project. Software engineering concepts and tools are also introduced.

Class Dates: This class runs from 2024-04-08 to 2024-06-28.
This is a HYBRID class that has both online and ON CAMPUS attendance requirements. Please see the class schedule for information on the weekly ON CAMPUS meetings. Exams will be ON CAMPUS during class time. Students must have access to a Windows computer, the internet, and an individual email address. Most De Anza classes will use the Canvas course management system. We recommend a laptop or desktop computer to successfully complete the course; a tablet or phone may not be adequate for all assignments and tests.
