Undocumented Students Week of Action

Community colleges throughout California will be hosting local events in support of undocumented students and their families. Here are some events planned at De Anza.USWoA flyer

Monday, Oct. 16: HEFAS Tabling and Open House

  • 10:00-12:00 p.m. - Tabling,  in Main Quad
    • Learn about HEFAS and get some free sticckers!
  • 3:00- 5:00 p.m. - HEFAS Open House, in East Cottage
    • Have fun and learn about Higher Education for AB 540 Students (HEFAS). Stop by the new HEFAS Center in the East Cottage to meet the staff and interns for HEFAS and UndocuSTEM. Find out about resources available to you.  Snacks provided!

Wednesday, Oct. 18: UndocuArt: You Belong Here

  • 10:30-11:45 a.m. – UndcocuArt: You Belong Here Workshop, in the HEFAS Center @East Cottage
    • Come join us in decorating butterflies that will be displayed in the Euphrat Museum exhibit called “Facing Home”- Who, what, and where makes you feel a sense of refuge? Come create Art honoring those who have passed

Thursday, Oct. 19:UndocuQueer Art Making and Belonging

  • 12:00-2:00 p.m. - UndocuQueer Art Making and Belonging in the Pride Center Library (LC 138)
    • Another opportunity to decorate wooden butterflies that will be part of the Euphrat Museum exhibit: “Facing Home” . In Honor parts of us that got us to where we are, things we need to let go.
