Step 1: Log in to MyPortal
Step 2: Click on the Student Registration card
Step 3: Under for "My Records" click on link "See My Placement Results"
Step 4: Look for your placement results. The courses listed are the courses that you are eligible to enroll in.
Can't see your results? Contact us with request to obtain your placement results. Be sure to tell us your full name and student id number.
Note: Per FERPA Guidelines, we cannot release student academic record information over the phone.

Math Guided-Self Placement (GSP) Assessment
Students are ineligible to retake the Math GSP if they have earned a D, F, FW, NP or I grade in the Math course sequence at De Anza.
- You may enroll in the course placement earned from the first or final assessment.
- Results do not expire.
Eligible students may retake the Math Guided Self-Placement (GSP) one time within six months of earning their first result.
- Students may choose to retake the assessment after two years from the last recorded result date if a student has not earned a D, F, FW, NP or I grade in a Math course at De Anza.
English Guided-Self Placement (GSP) Assessment
Students are ineligible to retake the English GSP if they have earned an English course placement earned by a U.S. high school transcript assessment.
Eligible students may only take the English Guided-Self Placement (GSP) one time.
- Results do not expire.
Current ESL students interested in taking the English assessment must complete ESL 272 (or 472) and ESL 273 (or 473), or be eligible for ESL 5 by ESL GSP assessment, before they can take the English assessment.
ESL Guided-Self Placement (GSP) Assessment
Students are ineligible to retake the assessment if they have earned a D, F, FW, NP or I grade in the ESL course sequence at De Anza.
- You may enroll in the course placement earned from the first or final assessment.

Biology & Chemistry Exam
Students are ineligible to retake the science exam if they have enrolled in or have earned a W, D, F or I grade in Biology 40A, Biology 6A or Chemistry 1A or the prerequisite courses for Biology 40A, Biology 6A or Chemistry 1A at De Anza or Foothill.
- Results do not expire.
Eligible students may retake the exam one time after six months.

Course Placement by GED Score
De Anza accepts the following GED scores for EWRT and math course placement.

Understanding Science Exam Results
This exam, if passed, allow you to enroll directly into the respective science courses:
- Biology and Chemistry Exam with a score of at least 29 out of 44 points allows you to enroll in Biology 40A: Human Anatomy and Physiology and Biology 6A: Form & Function in the Biological World* and Chemistry 1A: General Chemistry*
If you did not earn a passing score, you should enroll in the respective course's prerequisite course:
- Biology 40A prerequisite course: Chemistry 25, 30A, 1A
- Biology 6A prerequisite course: Chemistry 25 or 1A
- Chemistry 1A prerequisite course: Chemistry 25 or 30A (and Math 114 or equivalent)
*Since 2020, the Biology 40A Exam has been used to place students into Biology 6A and Chemistry 1A. If you previously took the Biology 40A exam and now you'd like to considered for a Biology 6A clearance or Chemistry 1A, submit your request using our Contact Form.
