Business Item 3
Title: Bike Program Updates
Presenters: Minseo
- Michi: Bike program scheduled for Week 9. Tasks include confirming bike availability.
Dennis: Some bikes were not returned; one was stolen, and a police report was filed. Discussed possibility of students covering fines or tracking bikes with Airtags.
Minseo: Should we meet specifically with the student involved? A bike was stolen despite having an Airtag, which was removed. The student feels the fine is unfair, given the circumstances. Suggested bike insurance as a potential solution.
Dariga: Asked if community cycles org. offers insurance.
Minseo: Unaware of any insurance from the organization. Raised question of how to handle the stolen bike situation and fines.
Yewon: Suggested a payment plan for the student.
Michi: Proposed a private meeting with Minseo, Dennis, the student, and herself.
Minseo: Other updates: Regular bike lights need replacement; two people needed to research new options. Interns also needed for slide preparation and helmet count.
Business Item 4
Title: Eco Fund Updates
Presenters: Dariga
- Dariga: EcoFund workshop will be on November 18th, 2024.
Michi: Make sure to have your presentation 1 week before the workshop, and submit the marketing request. I will also ask you to go over the workshop slideshow during the committee meeting before the actual workshop. Please keep this in your mind and be prepared

Public Comments
- Guest: Do we have bike insurance for this quarter?
Michi: No, unfortunately, there’s no insurance for bike rentals this quarter.
Yoon: Is it possible to separate the lost bike fee into quarterly payments, with a hold on the account if unpaid by registration?
Minseo: The only problem is transcript access, as unpaid fees could restrict retrieval.
Bella: Do we ask how long students plan on keeping their bikes?
Myles: Are students who plan to keep their bikes for the next quarter required to return them?
Dennis: Checking bikes in and out quarterly would require support from the ES committee to assist OCL staff.
Dariga: Let’s set specific dates for bike check-in/check-out.
Yewon: Could we schedule a meeting with the student with the stolen bike and the financial department to find support options?
Myles: Was the intern form fixed to include the ES option?
Michi: Emailed Dennis about it.
Dennis: Will check the email now.
Michi: Reminder to inform senators of any planned absences or delays to meetings.
Adjournment
- Michi adjourned the meeting at 11: 55 AM.
